Lidya Amir

Lidya Amir | Professor of Philosophy

Lydia Amir is Professor of Philosophy at the School of Media Studies at the College of Management Academic Studies, Rishon LeZion, Israel, and Adjunct Researcher at the Institute of Advanced Humanistic Studies, at Hubei University, in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Apart from articles on humor and philosophy, she is the author of Humor and the Good Life: Shaftesbury, Hamann, Kierkegaard (Albany, NY: SUNY Press, 2014) and of Laughter and the Good Life for the same editor (work in progress).

 

She is Board Editor of the European Journal of Humor Research, and Associate Editor of The Israeli Journal of Humor Research: An International Journal and Humor Mekuvvan: Scholarly Journal in Humor. She is a member of the International Society for Humor Studies (ISHS), board member of the Israeli Society for Humor Studies, President of “Am Sameh” - The Association for the Promotion of Humor, and the Founding President of the International Association for the Philosophy of Humor. She airs a weekly radio program on philosophy in everyday life Diotima, in Kol Hakampus, 106fm.
