Alon Gur Arye

A prolific Israeli comedy writer and director.
Wrote and directed the short film Hamossad, a satirical look at Israel’s secret service that won the following awards: Best Director and Best Special Effects (Houston), Audience’s Choice (Toronto), Best Comedy (Atlanta), Best Action Movie (Los Angeles).
Alon served as chief writer and content developer for Israel’s Channel 10 commercial TV station (2008-2009), chief writer and content editor for the Israeli Children’s Channel (2009-2011) and director and script editor for the Logi (Science and Technology for Children) Channel (2011-2012).
He created the sitcom Amila (HOT Cable) and wrote and directed for many TV shows, among them, the Israeli version of Sesame Street, and Ad Kan – The Israeli version of The Daily Show (YES Salelite).
Alon gives lectures on the history of cinema all over Israel. He writes a column on cinema history for Ynet, Israel’s most popular news portal.
He is set to direct his first feature length comedy in 2015.
